Dermal Fillers give added volume, replace volume lost over time and create the appearance of more structure. In doing so, they also fill out wrinkles and deep skin folds.
Our highly qualified and experienced injectors listen to you and gain an understanding of your desired results and devise a personalised treatment for your individual needs, whether you are looking for a subtle, natural or more volumised look.
The amount of dermal filler needed for your treatment will depend upon the physical anatomy of your face, the treatment area, factors such as age and your expected outcome. Our injectors tend to stay on the side of caution as it is easier to add filler than take it away.
We care about your results and have a policy of reviewing your injectable treatment after two weeks to make sure the best possible outcome is achieved.
The most commonly requested treatment areas are:
Cheeks
Lips
Chin
Jawline / Jaw Slimming
Tear Troughs (below the eyes)
Nasolabial fold
Deep creases and lines
Marionette Lines (mouth)
Nose correction

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR COSMETIC INJECTABLE DERMAL FILLERS?
Our typical filler client has lost facial volume through age, weight loss or illness and is conscious of their lax skin. That said, each client has separate needs when it comes to injectable dermal fillers. At our initial consultation with you, we will discuss the most appropriate treatments and products for your concerns.
CAN YOU TREAT FACIAL ASYMMETRY?
Absolutely! Science tells us that men subconsciously look for asymmetry when seeking a partner so over the years we have become fully accustomed to treating facial asymmetry!
DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
We use topical anaesthetic to make the treatment comfortable for you.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME FOR COSMETIC INJECTABLE DERMAL FILLERS?
There is minimal downtime for injectable dermal fillers although you may experience temporary swelling and bruising around the injection site.
WILL PEOPLE KNOW THAT I HAVE HAD A DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT?
This largely depends on your desired outcome. Some clients prefer a subtle look while others seek a look that emphases the features they wish to highlight. During our consultation, we will establish your preferences.
CAN I HAVE A COSMETIC INJECTABLE FILLER TREATMENT IF I AM PREGNANT?
We do not treat pregnant women with dermal fillers because there has been no data to confirm whether treatment will affect the unborn child or not.
ARE THERE ANY RISKS WITH COSMETIC INJECTABLE DERMAL FILLERS?
Dermal filler products are not made from any animal products, unlike the now out-dated collagen injections which reduce the risk of reaction or allergy significantly. Whilst there are minimal risks with cosmetic injectables, it is, however, important to choose an experienced injector.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE RESULTS OF COSMETIC INJECTABLE DERMAL FILLERS?
We use only temporary fillers which will dissipate naturally over time. Temporary fillers can also be dissolved if you do not like the result.
PRE & POST
DERMAL FILLERS PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION
Four days prior to treatment avoid medications and supplements that are known to increase blood flow or thin the blood as these will increase your chance of bruising. Examples include Aspirin, Nurofen, Vitamins A, C, E, Gingko
We cannot treat if you have open wounds or infection in the treatment area
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment
If you have a previous history of cold sores, these may be reactivated by lip injections. To minimise this risk, ask your GP for an antiviral.
DERMAL FILLERS AFTERCARE
Expect redness, swelling and tenderness for up to 48 hours. This is normal and will resolve quickly.
Use only clean make-up brushes on the skin
Bruising at the injection site is possible and usually resolves in 1-10 days.
Swelling and bruising can often give the appearance of an ‘uneven’ treatment, but this will be assessed at your 14 day post treatment review.
Minimise alcohol, caffeine, blood thinning medications and vitamin supplements for 24 hours, after treatment as reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
No exercise/exertion on the day of treatment.
Avoid hot showers, sun exposure, solariums and saunas for 24 hours.
If required, apply ice for 5 – 10 minutes every half hour for up to 6 hours to prevent or minimise bruising and swelling.
Arnica pilules or Hirudoid cream (available from the clinic or local chemist) may help to reduce bruising.
